Splitting services across nodes in Bill Analyst

You can allocate a service between nodes in the hierarchy that are at or below where the parent account is assigned. This may be helpful to share the cost of services between offices or departments. For example, if two departments in your organization share the same internet circuit, you could allocate services between two hierarchy nodes.

To split services across nodes:

  1. From the main menu, select Billing > Invoice Management.

  1. From the list of accounts, click the blue hyperlink for the account you want to work with.

  1. Click the Setup tab.
  1. In the Hierarchies box, click Edit Levels.

  1. From the Display list, select Services.
  1. Select the checkbox for the first service you want to split, then click Split Services.
  1. In the Allocation field, type the percent you want to split for the node.
  1. From the Node List, select the node.
  1. Click Add.
  1. In the Allocation field, type the percent you want to split for the next node.
  1. From the Node List, select the node.
  1. Repeat steps 10–12 as needed to continue adding nodes and assigning a percentage until you reach 100%.
  1. Click OK.

    Media portal saves your changes. (You can also view a history of changes to the hierarchy.)
